Bollywood Movie Johhny Gaddar to remake in Telugu
Hindi blockbuster thriller Johnny Gaddar is being remade in Telugu now in the direction of Lakshmikanth Chenna (Hyderabad Nawabs fame). Krishi Arimanda and Sai Kumar are playing the roles of Neil and Dharmender. Gracy Singh plays wife of Sai Kumar. Lekha Washington and Ruby Parihar play female leads. Deepak Baladev produces this movie on Kubera Cinemas banner. It's an official remake.
Kareena Kapoor voted as Sexiest Asian Woman
She has always been in the spotlight be it for her size zero phase or for her films, Kareena Kapoor has got it all, fame, fortune and a brilliant fashion sense. Well, it's no wonder then that this leggy damsel was recently voted as the sexiest Asian Woman.
According to a poll carried out by Eastern Eye, through social networking sites like twitter, Kareena took the top position, edging out last year's winner Katrina Kaif.
This year, Katrina ranks second, post holding the number one slot for the past three years. Others on the list include Priyanka Chopra at third place, Bipasha Basu at fourth followed by Freida Pinto at fifth and Deepika Padukone at seventh. Aamir Khan to be appointed as brand ambassador for UNICEF
He is termed as the perfectionist in Bollywood and rightly so. Aamir Khan holds true to what ever he does. Just recently, he worked with the Indian Ministry for Tourism for promoting Indian Tourism. Well now, we hear that Aamir will soon be the face of UNICEF in India.
Following others like Amitabh Bachchan and Priyanka Chopra, Aamir will be the next Bollywood icon to be nominated as the face of UNICEF in India. Aamir will be appointed the national ambassador of United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) on November 30.
Once the face for UNICEF, Aamir will support work in promoting child rights and nutrition of children under two years of age. Apart from this, the organization has also roped in various international celebrities to support its campaigns around the globe, like Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie, Jackie Chan, Mia Farrow, Shakira Mebarak, Vanessa Redgrave, Susan Sarandon and football star David Beckham among many others.
Trishna to make splash at IFFI 2011
Trishna starring Freida Pinto in the lead role is all set to premiere on Nov 25 at IFFI in Goa. The premiere in Goa will be attended by Freida Pinto, the film's director Michael Winterbottom (A Mighty Heart), co producers Anurag Kashyap and Sunil Bohra and music director Amit Trivedi.
Trishna is story of one woman whose life is destroyed by a combination of love and circumstances. The story is based on Thomas Hardy's classic novel Tess of the D'Urbervilles. Set in contemporary Rajasthan, Trishna (played by Freida Pinto) meets a wealthy young British businessman Jay Singh (Riz Ahmed) who has come to India to work in his father's hotel business. After an accident destroys her father's Jeep, Trishna goes to work for Jay, and they fall in love. But despite their feelings for each other, they cannot escape the conflicting pressures of a rural society which is changing rapidly through industrialisation, urbanisation and, above all, education. Trishna's tragedy is that she is torn between the traditions of her family life and the dreams and ambitions that her education has given her.
The film premiered internationally at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) on 9th September 2011and received rave reviews from critics and was highly appreciated by the audience. The performances and the storyline found space in the hearts of many convincing them that this was truly a story that needed to be told.
The film will release world wide in early 2012. In India, the film will be dubbed across eight languages and released on a large scale.
As is known by one and all by now, the good news is that Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D'Souza have admitted to being a couple. And even better news is that their next release would see the two of them together as love birds. Guess the makers of Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya understood this as well and not just a major portion of this quickie was wrapped up in record time, even the film's promotion has started months in advance with the release of their song 'Main Vaari Jaanva'. As reported earlier, it was a clear hint that Riteish and Genelia were serious about their wedding plans and the song just added as an early indication.
"Yes, Riteish has already announced that the wedding would take place early next year. Now it's a matter of time that the final date is announced soon as well. Not many are aware that Sanjay Dutt makes an interesting cameo in DESI BOYZ. Of course, one of the trailers of the film shows a glimpse of Dutt, but the focus is on Akshay Kumar and John Abraham in the movie and rightly so. However, Rohit Dhawan, son of David Dhawan, has an interesting story to narrate about Dutt, when the first-time director approached him for the film.
It seems, Dutt, who shares a fantastic rapport with Rohit's father David and who had known Rohit ever since he was a kid, didn't think twice before accepting the small but significant part in DESI BOYZ. "He didn't want to listen to the story or what role he was supposed to play. All he said was, when do you want me to be on the sets?," Rohit divulges. Incidentally, David Dhawan's directorial debut TAAQATWAR starred Sanju [and Govinda] in the lead role, 22 years ago. Both papa Dhawan and beta Dhawan can claim to have worked with Dutt in their debut films.
David Dhawan suddenly seems to have discovered a new formula for success. He is now into doing remakes of classic comedies. Even as he gets ready to do a remake of Sai Paranjpye'sChashme Buddoor, news comes that Dhawan would be doing his own take on Hrishikesh Mukherjee's 1975 comedy Chupke Chupke.
Apparently, David who has so far never worked with Abhishek Bachchan has offered the actor his father Amitabh Bachchan's role of the scatter-brained Botany professor from Chupke Chupke.
Writer-director Rumi Jaffery who has written any number of films for David Dhawan in the past has been given the job of writing the new version of Chupke Chupke.
Says Jaffery, "It's a big challenge for me. Hrishida's Chupke Chupke was written by Gulzar Saab. And now I've been given the task of writing the new adaptation of Chupke Chupke 36 years after Hrishida's film. How do I retain the flavour of the original and still make it palatable to contemporary tastes? Fortunately, after working with David on nearly 20 films we share a great comfort level. And we're both big fans of Hrishikesh Mukherjee."

Desi Boyz gets 'A' certificate while The Dirty Picture passed without any cuts
Two big upcoming films, Desi Boyz and The Dirty Picture were examined by the Censor Board this week and the committee's decision has left many astounded. Apparently, the Akshay Kumar and John Abraham starrer Desi Boyz has been given an 'A' certificate while The Dirty Picture has been passed without any cuts.
The makers of Desi Boyz were expecting a U/A certificate since it's a big-budget film with Akshay, John, Chitrangda and Deepika. They feel that the film is made for a family audience and getting an 'A' certificate could cause them a lot of trouble. Akshay and John play male strippers in the film and that could have been a reason for board's decision.
In contrast, the makers of The Dirty Picture were very anxious about the Censor Board's decision as the Censors have been sent a notice by the AP High Court to decide whether the film should be released. To their surprise the film has been passed with an 'A' certificate without any cuts.
Abhishek asks fans to suggest names for his daughter
Ever since Aishwarya Rai Bachchan gave birth to a baby girl on November 16 at Mumbai's Seven Hills Hospital, the congratulatory messages for the Bachchan family have not stopped pouring. Abhishek Bachchan has thanked his fans for their good wishes and also asked them to suggest a name for his daughter, who they till now are referring to as Beti B.
Abhishek tweeted, "And the congratulatory messages still pour in. Thank you so much guys. All of you are wonderful and so sweet. My daughter is so blessed. And till we find a name for the little lady a dear friend@ShahanaGoswami gave me a great one. We have Sr B and Jr B already so... Beti B!"
There were a lot of speculations about the baby's name and even the letter it should start from. But the Bachchan's have decided to continue the legacy by asking people to suggest names from A.

Ashutosh Gowariker Now Takes Big B
fter the success of Lagaan, Ashutosh Gowariker started experimenting with different topics rather than making and following the same trend. He decided to rope in Aishwarya for Jodhaa Akbar and paired her opposite Hritik Roshan. Although, Jodhaa Akbar did average at the box office it was the performance of Hritik and Aishwarya that gained popularity. After that Ashutosh decided to rope in another member from the Bachchan family and he launched Abhishek in Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey but unfortunately this historic movie did not make any money and fame for the director.
Now, Ashutosh Gowariker is back again and this time he has decided to rope in Big B, Amitabh Bachchan for the main role. Sharing few details about the movie, Ashutosh Gowariker said that he is going to make a detective thriller for the audience this time and therefore he required someone that can handle the role of experienced detective. He thought about various people but finally settled with Amitabh Bachchan who would suit the role perfectly. He said that Amitabh Bachchan is perfect for the character he is looking for and therefore he has casted him and not just for the promotion factor.
Ashutosh also said that so far he has only selected Amitabh Bachchan for the movie and he is still looking for other people who would fit in the characters he needs. Hence, he cannot reveal anything more about the movie. He said that the casting is still incomplete and only when he has finalized the entire script and casting he will provide details to the media. This is the first time that Ashutosh Gowariker will attempt a detective thriller and it looks like he will be able to do it considering that he has pulled off some really great stories with his directorial talent and experience.

Ghayal Returns is the sequel of one of Sunny Deol’s biggest hits, Ghayal which had released back in 1990. Earlier Vidya Balan was supposed to play the role; however she has walked out of the film and the makers are in talks with other big actresses for the lead role. Most part of the film will be shot in Uttar Pradesh and the shooting is expected to commence in November.
Shah Rukh Khan’s magnum opus Ra.One might have got a mixed reaction from critics and audience; however, that doesn’t seem to be stopping the juggernaut from smashing records at box-office. The film was released on October 26, on the eve of Diwali and it managed to collect Rs 14.7 crores according to businessofcinema.com.
Trade analysts say that the film might have lost some revenue due to the festival which led to less than expected crowd for the evening and night shows. But it was a totally different story on day two. According to Taran Adarsh, a popular trade analyst, Ra.One collected Rs 25.10 crores nett on day two and this is by far the highest figure for a single day. Ra.One has smashed Salman Khan’s Bodyguard’s record which had collected close to Rs 21 crores on day one and Rs 17.5 crores on day two. As per the current estimates, Ra.One is expected to cross Rs 100 crores by next week. Whether it’ll reach 3 Idiots’ record, which had collected around Rs 200 crores in its full lifetime or not remains to be seen.

Kareena Kappor who is sailing high in the sea of Bollywood is all set to join the ranks of the other international stars. The actress who is now rightly considered the queen of Bollywood is now getting her wax statue unveiled at Madame Tussauds in Blackpool, UK.
The scheduled date for the unveiling ceremony is set to the 27th of October. Kareena is also supposed to kick start a global exhibition in the unveiling ceremony. The global exhibition will be taking place in six of the major cities of the world where the statues of Bollywood celebrities will be taken to exhibit.
The actual schedule of Kareena’s wax statue unveiling was somewhere in the 2nd week of October however it had to be pushed back coz of the unfortunate passing away of beau Saif Ali Khan’s father, Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi. Caring Bebo was not at all in a mood of attending events after the incident and just wanted to be there to support Chote Nawab. It is a known fact that Kareena cancelled almost all her public appearances and appointments for many days after the death of cricketer Mr. Pataudi. She conveyed the same message to the museum who agreed to wait for Kareena to get her schedules free.
The actress will also be missing for the Toronto premiere of her most awaited movie of all times ‘Ra.One’.
