Watching Dhada one cannot help but wince at the wastage of richness. Naga Chaitanya epitomises rugged cool. Kajal looks chic in her song dance routines. New York is exquisitely captured from a visual perspective. And the big names are all there. Brahmanandam, Venu, Uttej & Dharmavarapu are there to tickle your funny bone. Rahul Dev growls like a mean wolf for his villainous role.Yet all these big names could not hide a weak storyline.
Director Ajay Bhuyan has to own up here. Watching the second half, one gets a feeling that the director lost hold of the plot completely. Ajay seems to have lost count of the number of stars he signed for the film. What for e.g., was he thinking when he sketched Kelly Dorjee’s character? How about Thanikella Bharani? And what is that jungle scene with Brahmanandam & Ali? Between them they would have perhaps acted in a thousand films. It was really sad to watch that scene. Such scenes make a mockery of their experience. And last but not the least, as movie lovers we have to ask ourselves this question:why is this insane attempt being made by producers and directors to build heroism at all costs? If Ajay Bhuyan had concentrated on Vishwa the character rather than Nag Chaitanya the hero, Dhada would have been a much better product than it is now.- Recent Posts
